WHERE TO SLEEP: "THE SUITE LIFE" by leo

“Tell me where you sleep and I will tell you who you are,” Ian Schrager once said at the height of the 5 star boutique hotel craze that he helped define and then left when he ended his partnership with Philippe Starck.
Putting his arrogance aside, there is an underlying truth to his claim.
So my response? I will tell you where I sleep and you will tell me that I am one who lives, loves, and breathes, The Suite Life lifestyle.
Sleeping around in Boutique Hotels has been an avid passion of mine since starting my career as a designer. However, the definition of “Boutique Hotel” have evolved overtime and the arena now hosts corporate hospitality groups that are spending millions in consumer behavior research to figure out what kind of boutique-y design, amenities and advertising campaigns will appeal to the Gen X and Millennial Generations. Yet, no matter what, their take on the “new Boutique hotel concept” is always going to smell corporate, as once noted by Chris Penn, GM of the ACE Hotel London at the Boutique Hotel Summit.
So, regardless of size, ownership, common perceptions and price, I have pulled together my list of favorite places to stay in the cities where I enjoy The Suite Life.
