Geralda van der Es is alumna at the Royal Art Academy (KABK) in The Hague, The Netherlands (1998-2002), with as specialism conceptual graphic and typographic design/photography. In 2002 she won a Design prize by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and founded SPRESSO design studio in the same year. The world famous Dutch Design is distinguished by its combination of craftsmanship, minimalism, experimentation and humour, and is at the forefront of international design. After the start-up in Holland, Van der Es expanded to the United States and France to develop the design studio – and to cover the growing client base worldwide. Geralda has in-depth experience managing creative projects and worked with her skilled team for high-profile end clients such as T-Mobile, Heineken, Triodos Bank, Schiphol Airport and Philips: from conception to execution, and within budgets and timeframes. As an established international designer with over 15 years of experience in branding events, companies and products, she challenges traditional design principles and maintain craft skills while exploring the potential of new technologies. In the field of hospitality she has been working on renowned assignments with Eden hotel and hotel Krasnapolsky in the heart of Amsterdam, numerous Van der Valk hotels in the Netherlands, Belgium (Brussels/Brugge), Germany (Düsseldorf), a converted prison ‘Het Arresthuis’ in Roermond Holland, and La Plage in Marennes, France. For interior design projects she has been developing graphic/photography projects for the famous Dutch interior designer Jan de Bouvrie / Het Arsenaal, for MySuites & Co in New York City and got published in ‘Interior Portraits’ by Flamant in FR/ENG.
